Lumonall CEO Focuses on Building Safety for National Safety Month
TORONTO and San Diego - June 16, 2008 - Lumonall, Inc. (OTCBB: LUNL), a global supplier of photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) emergency signage and guidance systems, announced today that as part of its efforts to provide effective and timely corporate communications, and to discuss National Safety Month, the company has participated in the latest AudioStocks.com interview (see Lumonall, Inc.).
Safety standards and solutions in any sector are important, however Mike Hetherman, President and CEO of Lumonall, notes that he doesn't think building safety gets as much attention as it should, especially in light of the reported number of preventable accidents caused by insufficient safety and egress systems currently in use. "Safety is obviously important in general, in any sector or situation," said Mr. Hetherman today. "Sectors such as the automobile or aircraft industry understandably focus incredible amounts of time, effort and money on safety standards because they are perceived to have such a high potential for danger. Building safety, whether it's where you live or work, is just as important, but the perceived levels of danger aren't as high."
The National Safety Council estimates that in 2004 the annual number of deaths in the United States caused by:
- Fall on and from stairs and steps 1,638
- Uncontrolled fire in building or structure 2,635
In his Audiostocks.com interview, Mr. Hetherman discusses the importance of getting people out of high-rise buildings in the event of an emergency, new products and technology the company is offering to help improve emergency egress, as well as identifying new and different target markets for the new safety egress products.
In addition to the Company's focus on helping improve emergency egress and evacuation safety, other topics Mr. Hetherman discusses include:
- Financial prospects
- Weathering the current economic environment
- Sports stadiums as a possible target market
This exclusive interview is part of a series of AudioStocks.com interviews Lumonall will be featured in during National Safety Month in June.
